Jorge Saeki is the managing partner of SAEKI ADVOGADOS. He joined the firm in 1987 to be responsible for all foreign-related issues.

Jorge is recognized by clients for his wide-ranging legal skills and for his ability to combine technical expertise and deep industry knowledge. His thorough understanding of the technical aspects of his clients work helps him to identify legal risks in due diligence investigations and find creative solutions to structure sound and safe transactions.

He currently focuses his practice on private equity investments, taxation and mergers and acquisitions, offering clients more than three decades of expertise in handling complex M&A transactions and in advising clients on the issues that could affect their business.

He also has broad experience structuring and negotiating national and international agreements in the fields of real estate. His track record includes providing legal advice to Brazilian and foreign clients in relation to large projects involving both urban and rural real estate, industrial plants, distribution centers, and the purchase and sale of large commercial office buildings and plants.

He is frequently retained to advise clients on the various legal issues related to corporate transactions and contract matters, representing them in administrative or judicial proceedings, when necessary, in collaboration with the firm’s litigation experts.

Jorge´s background includes a period of one year working at the international legal department of a trading company in Tokyo, Japan, when his knowledge on Japanese legal matters was reinforced, and three years in the tax department of an international audit company in São Paulo, dealing with all Brazilian taxes and U.S. Individual Income Tax.

He has been the official legal counsel of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Brazil since 2006. In 2011, he was recognized by the Brazilian “Advocacia 500” as one of the most admired lawyers in international trade.
