After more than 25 years of experience in advisory and leadership positions serving Japanese companies and other international companies, Aya returns as a Senior Consultant of SAEKI ADVOGADOS, strengthening the firm’s expertise in areas of tax consulting, human capital, immigration, labor and others.
Aya graduated from the Law School of Aoyama Gakuin University, in Tokyo, Japan, in 1999 with Japanese degree revalidation with the Law School of the University of São Paulo (USP).
While in the university in Tokyo, she worked in the Legal Department of a Swiss pharmaceutical company, in the area of contracts, intellectual property and others, deepening her knowledge of corporate law in Japan.
After returning to Brazil, during the revalidation of her foreign degree, she joined SAEKI ADVOGADOS, consistently working with Japanese companies, mainly in corporate law and foreign investment issues.
After that, she worked for almost 20 years at an international auditing firm in São Paulo (‘Big 4’) in the area of personal taxation, providing consulting services to expatriates of foreign capital companies, especially the Japanese ones. She led the tax department of the Japan Desk, preparing workshops and presentations, giving lectures in Brazil and Japan. Aya also participated in people and talent management projects and oversaw the implementation of best practices in Diversity and Inclusion, being part of the Gender Inclusion Commission.
Aya is recognized by her clients for her high knowledge of personal tax matters in Brazil, including international tax issues, combined with exceptional delivery in three languages.
Since 2014, Aya has also been active at the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Brazil, holding positions such as President of the Consulting Department, Member of the Board of Directors, Audit Committee and others.
