Michele Haidar leads the firm’s corporate and foreign investment practice groups. She joined the firm in 2001.

International clients value Michele’s insights into the challenges of operating in Brazil and her ability to devise clear strategies and alternative solutions that address corporate goals. She assists domestic and foreign companies in establishing operations, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate reorganizations.

Michele has a strong corporate governance practice and advises clients in relation to management liability, shareholders’ relations, voting rights, related party transactions, conflict of interest, among others.

She has been in charge of developing in-company compliance departments and assisting domestic and foreign companies in different industry sectors with the implementation of compliance programs. She is dedicated to developing a richer and deeper understanding of the causes of corporate misconduct and the nature of effective enforcement, aiming to manage corporate risks properly by preparing codes of conduct and ethics.

Michele also assists clients on immigration matters, including work on visas and regulatory requirements.

Her background includes providing legal advice in relation to commercial contracts, including distribution and agency agreements, as well as intellectual property matters.

In 2011, she was recognized by the Brazilian “Advocacia 500” as one of the most admired lawyers in the automobile sector.
