Anyone who owns assets abroad should pay attention to the deadlines for the 2025 Declaration of Brazilian Capital Abroad (CBE), referring to the 2024 base year
Brazilian Capital Abroad (CBE) consists of assets of any nature held outside the country by Brazilian residents (individuals or legal entities).
These assets may include property or financial holdings of any kind, such as rights, financial instruments, currencies, deposits, real estate, equity interests in companies, stocks, bonds, trade credits, among others.
Brazilian residents are allowed to hold funds abroad. However, those with assets of at least USD 1,000,000.00 (one million dollars) must periodically declare their holdings to the Central Bank of Brazil. The declaration must be submitted annually or quarterly, depending on the total value of assets:

- Quarterly CBE: Required for assets equal to or exceeding USD 100,000,000.00 (one hundred million dollars) or the equivalent in other currencies on the reference dates: 03/31/2024, 06/30/2024, and 09/30/2024.
